on a chair will not work. the inner part of the a/c must be separated from the outer part, otherwise the cool air blowing out the front gets sucked into the vents that cool the back and blow it outside.it has to go through a wall or window so i would see if the whole window could be removed and covered with plywood or something, or get one of those new ones that work like a central unit but in window unit size, they are more expensive though. if the unit is level and its not to humid it might not leak water, but you are taking a chance with your floor as it could leak at any time.

I do not know if you have room for this but if you do it will work. Buy a piece of plexi glass 3/8 or 1/2 inch thick measure and cut out the height and width of unit add 1/4 inch to w.and h. so you can slide the unit in. Drill some holes around the perimeter of plexi. so to screw it into perimeter of window frame. You will have to remove the screen. Good luck.

You have to remove the window. Make a frame out of wood that fits the whole window, fit the air conditioner in it and secure it. Then on the top of the air conditioner fit another framing wood piece and in that square above the airconditioner fit a piece of plexiglass and then frame it again with more framing material to make a window. We have done this before and it is very secure and air tight.

If you need help with it, understanding what I said, then email me and I will send you a diagram.
